It Is Better to Please God Rather Than Man

Proverbs 16:7
When a man’s ways please the Lord, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.
Peace is defined as, quietness, peace of mind, peace between individuals, or harmony. Peace is something that everyone around the world seems to be looking for these days. The search for it has always been since creation, and the search continues on today for it.
We will always have enemies. Either from within our own circle, our own family or from without by those who choose to oppose us for no reason at all, but we should not be surprised when the attacks come for, we are reminded in 2 Timothy 3:12 that all who live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.
Being hated and attacked by the enemy is nothing new. Jesus knew it first hand and He Himself declared that He was hated for no reason. The blessing in this text is "when a man's ways pleases the Lord."
The question before all of us today is, "Who do we or who is it that we are striving to please the most in our life? Is it your spouse, your family, your children, your boss or yourself? Who is it? Is it God?
The question before all of us today is, "who do we or who is it that we are striving to please the most in our life? Is it your spouse, your family, your children, your boss or yourself? Who is it? Is it God? Unfortunately, many in this world in which we now live have come to the conclusion that "pleasing man" is more important than pleasing God.
Regardless of the pressure to conform to the world in pleasing man and not God, scripture lets it be known that It is better to please God than man. We are reminded in scripture today that the only way to have true "peace" with our enemies is to live our lives in a way that pleases God and not man.
People of God, please keep this in mind. Pleasing God does not mean that you won't have enemies because Jesus had them too; but what it does mean is that God will cause them to be at peace with you.
