HAVE A QUESTION?

We've got answers.
  • What does it mean to be a Christian?
Simply put a Christian is a person who follows Christ; but the term “Christian,” as we understand it, refers to anyone (man, woman, or child) who trusts in Jesus Christ as his or her Lord and Savior and who strives to follow Him in every area of life. We place great stress on the importance of an individual’s personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We believe that this relationship is lived out by the following: Prayer The study of God’s Word Fellowship with God’s people Service to others in Jesus’ name There’s an important sense in which Christian faith must be lived out by serving the community of believers and non-believers alike. But in the final analysis, it’s an intensely personal and individual matter, not a question of church membership or doctrinal orientation. The Bible backs us up in this regard: "Whoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." - Romans 10:13 (Joel 2:32)
  • How do I become a Christian?
Because of His love for us, God has made it exceedingly simple to become a Christian. All you have to do is receive Jesus as your Savior, fully accepting His death as the sufficient sacrifice for your sins and fully trusting Him alone as your Savior. Becoming a Christian is not all about rituals, going to church, or doing certain things while refraining from other things. Becoming a Christian is all about having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. A personal relationship with Jesus Christ, through faith, is what makes a person a Christian. "If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." - Romans 10:9 (John 3:16; John 14:6; Acts 4:12)
  • Some days, I feel like God doesn’t hear me. What should I do?"
God always hears and answers our prayers. What sometimes trips us up, however, is that “yes,” “no” and “not yet” are all valid answers. Don’t get discouraged. Keep your eyes on him and tell him what you need. He hears you and will answer! "But as for me, I will look to the LORD, I will wait for the God of my salvation; my God will hear me." - Micah 7:7
  • What is faith and how does it apply to my everyday life?
The Bible says that faith is confidence in what we hope for and the assurance that the Lord is working, even though we cannot see it. (Hebrews 11:1-3) Faith knows that no matter what the situation, whether in our lives or someone else’s, that the Lord is working in it. The Hebrew word for faith is emunah which means “support.” This is perfect because faith is like “the Lord’s support” to us because he is working in every situation for his glory. Regardless of what we think, He always knows best, and there are many times we have to see by faith and not our own eyes.
  • Why should I give a tithe and/or offering, and what purpose do they actually serve?"
Giving our tithes and offerings reflects a grateful heart that wants to give back to God a portion of what He has given us; in reality, what is already His. This is our opportunity to show God that He is first in our lives. The Bible says that the purpose of tithing is to teach you always to put God first in your lives (Deuteronomy 14:23 TLB). Tithing is a reminder that God is the supplier of everything we have. It is with the tithe (10% of our gross income) and offering the we are actually able to care for the local church and its affairs and to serve the community. It is also God’s personal invitation to an outpouring of his blessing in your life. Malachi 3:8-12 has this to say about tithes and offering: 8 “Will a mere mortal rob God? Yet you rob me. “But you ask, ‘How are we robbing you?’ “In tithes and offerings. 9 You are under a curse—your whole nation—because you are robbing me. 10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it. 11 I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not drop their fruit before it is ripe,” says the Lord Almighty. 12 “Then all the nations will call you blessed, for yours will be a delightful land,” says the Lord Almighty.
  • I am not a member of a church, but I pray and read my Bible every day. Is that okay?"
The Bible tells us to meet together as believers and to encourage one another. The number one reason to encourage Christians to find a good church is because the Bible instructs us to be in relationship with other believers. If we are part of Christ's body, we will recognize our need to fit into the body of believers. The church is the place where we come together to encourage one another as members of Christ's body. Together we fulfill an important purpose on the Earth. "Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching." - Hebrews 10:25 NIV
